Every device in the system was tied to one interrupt pin, and it interrupted the decoding.Yes, the settings won't vary much if at all between versions. (I wasn't even using an SDR at the time, I was decoding audio from an old-fashioned standalone radio. The latter shouldn't be a problem according to Microsoft (they say that starting with Windows XP, devices can share interrupts) - but I had a laptop that proved them wrong on weatherfax decoding. The former shouldn't be much of a problem on modern fast systems, unless you've got some really ill-behaved software that's not properly written for a multitasking environment. My second guess is that some other process in your system is interrupting the decoding, either in SDR# or WXtoImg, by hogging the CPU or sharing an interrupt pin with something it shouldn't. (I've never tried changing the frequency while receiving, I just set a wider filter. My first guess is that if you're changing the frequency (to compensate for Doppler), it's interrupting the decoding in SDR#.

In contrast, the Planar Disk is almost free and it performs quite well in an indoor setting. Just because an antenna "is sold" does not mean its good or even marginal. Please verify your dongle is working with a good antenna before complaining that you cannot receive something.
